The capability to easily find, compare and reuse existing configurations is important in order to achieve maximum productivity boost from a configurator.
A powerful search capability in COMBINUM is to query configurations by making an example. You select the product or products that you want to query configurations from. COMBINUM then lets you "configure" among the options of the product and finds matching configurations for you.
You can also query configurations from metadata like - status, created by, created date, owning workgroup etc.
As you define your query COMBINUM shows the number of matching configurations in real time. This gives you a good hint when to stop narrowing the query scope.
Queries can be saved by the user and are then quickly accessible from the welcome screen of the user. An administrator can save queries that are made available to all users.
In the search result you can select two or more configurations and compare them side by side. The comparison screen lets you compare not only the selected options but also calculated data like performance attributes, price and nomenclature.
