The solution is a typical CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) implementation with addition of visualization of the configured product.

The user starts the selection process by choosing the location which drives default values for parameters like unit of measure and drive on direction.

The user configures the lift in a guided selection process. When it comes to dimensioning the frame an optimization algorithm automatically recommends the best frame dimensions based on entered minimum and maximum wheelbase of the vehicles that the lift is intended for.

A schematic drawing is generated in the browser and updated as the user makes the selections using the module COMBINUM Graphics. The drawing can also be downloaded in various formats like PDF and DXF as well as attached as an image in a Microsoft Word report.

Depending on the selected unit of measure the dimensioning parameters and the measurements on the drawing is either in inches or in millimeters.

Prices are calculated using COMBINUM Advanced Pricing. The standard dialog for viewing price details is replaced with a report that puts the price details along with an item number for each price item in a Microsoft Excel spread sheet.
